Day 247, 118 To Go

September 4, 2013

Due to being cutoff from civilization for this week and most of next, I am going to make my blogs short and sweet.  This isn't a promise that they will be short or sweet.  It is a disclaimer for my faithful reader(s?).  My access to the Internet is dependent on the goodwill of my in laws and their data limits.  They all have Internet access through their phone and they can make their phone a hotspot so I can access the Internet.  The problem is their limits are getting reached and I have been cutoff!

No email.  No Facecrack...uh, Facebook.  No news (this is kind of a good thing...did we bomb anyone yet?)  And, lastly, no blogging.  So, I am reduced to writing my blog in Notepad and waiting until I have access so I can load up what I wrote.  This will limit my ability to add links or pictures or anything else of interest.  So I apologize again to my reader(s?)

Today, Honey agreed to accompany me for my run on the beach.  I am sure she regretted her decision the second we stepped outside.  I knew she would, but she seemed intent on going out with me so who am I to argue.  You see, it has been raining all day and it will probably rain for the next couple of days.  It is late, dark, rainy, windy and cold.  So of course, Honey wants to run.  She may not be aware of all of these things though.  Too late!

If it were a bit warmer, this would have been quite a fun run.  I like running in the rain and running in the rain on the beach is even cooler.  However, I am guessing the temperature is somewhere around 55 degrees.  Maybe it could be 60, but I doubt it.  I only have regular running shorts and shirts, so nothing warm at all.  Honey doesn't even have that so she is wearing mine.

Needless to say, it was quite an unpleasant run, but I made the most of it.  I was laughing a lot at Honey's distress and the myriad of complaints that were flowing from her mouth.  Eventually, her chattering teeth and shortness of breath shut her up, but I could still feel her withering stare as we finished out our run.  The hot shower afterwards was heavenly.

Here are our numbers:

Time: 25:00
Distance: 2.11 miles
Pace: 11:52/m
Max Pace: 9:01/m
Calories: 178
Avg HR: 107
Max HR: 120

All I can say about this run is that we got through it.  Another day in the books.  See you tomorrow for a, hopefully, warmer and dryer run.

Run for Life!!
