Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas....Yes, today was the day for putting up Christmas decorations. I think it was took early since typically, I don't put up decorations until after Thanksgiving, but Honey is not the most patient person on the planet. If it were up to her, we'd keep the Christmas decorations up all year. That's not going to happen, of course, but I suppose a few days early is ok. Thanksgiving does come a little late this year anyway.
I pulled all the boxes down from the crawlspace in the garage and Honey got to decorating. I "let" her do most of the work because she likes it (and I don't) so it all works out. I help with the heavy lifting and with anything that needs a little height like putting the star at the top of the tree. We were done pretty soon, actually. However, Honey was not done. She wanted MORE! So, we went out and got some more lights and other festive crap and put that up. Not a lot, but some. If I were to hand Honey a credit card and set her loose in a Christmas store, she could easily max out that card on holiday cheer.
I eventually set out for my run with the lights glowing brightly on the front of my house. They made a nice, colorful welcome for when I returned since it was dark by then. I have to admit, it looked pretty. I have always kind of wanted an over the top front lawn like in the movie National Lampoons Christmas Vacation where Chevy Chase goes crazy on his front lawn! Then I think of the electric bill and the effort to put it all up and I am happy with a spare few lights on my house.
Here are my numbers:
Time: 30:00
Distance: 3.15 miles
Pace: 9:31/m
Max Pace: 8:33/m
Calories: 337
Avg HR: 127
Max HR: 135So another Sunday has passed me by without running long. I am considering running a bit longer on Thursday because typically, I would run a Turkey Trot every year and it was 5 miles long. I feel like I should do that on my own on Thursday. I didn't see any local Turkey Trots and I didn't want to travel far for a run, so I will have to do it myself.
Happy decorating everyone!
Run for Life!!
