Day 155, 210 To Go

June 4, 2013

Ow!  I feel good...huh!

That's my James Brown impersonation.  It actually sounds better on paper than in person.  I can't do impressions.  My British accent is particularly pathetic.  I've always wanted to do an accent.  The best I can pull off is NY accent.  Granted, I was born in NYC, so that isn't all that impressive.

Anyway, the whole point is that I feel good today.  I actually feel better than I did on race day.  I have recovered nicely and my run today showed me that.  I was taking it fairly easy, at least perceived effort wise, in the beginning, and I picked it up towards the end.  There is this young girl, probably high school age, who runs on my street, and she was running ahead of me.  I got a little competitive and decided to push it a bit to pass her.

I was huffing and puffing as I went by her while she smiled and seemed like she was running effortlessly.

I hate young people.

I had Honey with me today rollerblading, and that just encourages me to run faster.  She is getting better so she is usually a bit ahead of me and that encourages me to run faster.  Again, the competitive side of me comes out.  I just hope she doesn't push it too hard, or I'll be running fast every day she rolls!

Here are my numbers:

Time: 20:00
Distance: 2.54 miles
Pace: 7:52/m
Max Pace: 6:50/m
Calories: 329
Avg HR: 137
Max HR: 158

My next goal is to run at this pace on my normal days, kind of like I have been running at 8:30 on many normal days lately.  I'm getting there!  Until next time...

Run for Life!!
