Day 122, 243 To Go

May 2, 2013

Ok, here it is, the monthly summary.  This month, both Honey and I have some numbers instead of just me.  Here numbers are not the highest mileage she has had, but I think may may end up being her highest.  Stay tuned and see.
My mileage inched up this month.  You would think that it would be much higher since I am running more each day, but I had 7 days running with Honey which tends to cut my mileage by about 1/2 mile each run and I also did shorter long runs in the beginning of the month to allow myself to get used to the increasing mileage (or I was lazy...one of the two).
So, here is the summary for the month of April:

              Total Miles | Total Time
January          52.24    |    9:25:00
February         52.01    |    8:40:07
March            74.57    |   11:30:00
April            75.59    |   12:00:16

Here is a week by week breakdown:

Steve's Total Miles Logged: 75.59
Partial Week 1: 1.77
Week 2: 18.02
Week 3: 16.67
Week 4: 18.75
Week 5: 18.18
Partial Week 6: 2.20

Total Running Time: 12:00:16

Honey's Total Miles Logged: 11.53
Partial Week 1: 1.77
Week 2: 0.00
Week 3: 1.56
Week 4: 3.33
Week 5: 4.87
Partial Week 6: 0.00

Total Running Time: 2:02:00

I'm glad that is over with...just a month of running stands in between me and having to do this again.  Anyway, here are my numbers for today:

Time: 20:00
Distance: 2.59 miles
Pace: 7:44/m
Max Pace: 5:39/m
Calories: 333
Avg HR: 145
Max HR: 171

Today was a fast one for me.  I felt good and I pushed a little bit.  I didn't go all out like last week though.  My goal today was to do a tempo run where I strayed just out of the aerobic zone and went into my anaerobic zone.  This is how you get faster.  In the last .25 mile, I pushed hard though.  That is where the 5:39 pace came in.

Honey was by my side on her roller blades today.  It was a hard day for her because she is still getting used to them and I made her go faster, but she did well.  She is getting good on her wheels.  She hasn't learned how to stop yet which is kind of important, but she'll get there eventually.

Run for Life!!
