Hello people...I just want to say, that Fogo de Chao is a fantastic restaurant. I also want to say that I didn't think it was possible to eat an entire cow, but I'm pretty sure I did. It was the juiciest, warmest and most tender cow I have had the chance to eat.Not only was the food great, but the service was impeccable. I was never wanting for anything. My drink was always full, the table was cleared without request and if by some chance the meat they brought to your table was not to your liking, they went back and brought you what you wanted.
It was heavenly.
For those of you who have never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse, let me tell you a little bit about how it works. You are given a card with one side red and the other side green. It means exactly what you think it does. If you flip it to the green side, you are ready to eat. If you turn it to the red side, you don't want any more. When it is green, servers come over with a piece of beef, chicken or pork on a spit, and they carve you a fresh, hot, fresh off the grill piece and put it on your plate. If you keep your card turned to the green side, they will continue to come over with different choices of meat.
Honey, who is from Brazil (in case that wasn't clear yet), has been going to this type of restaurant her entire life. She has also been to Fogo de Chao in Brazil. The Fogo de Chao in Brazil is considered the best...and the most expensive. It wasn't cheap here either! The biggest difference that she noted was that in Brazil, they have a LOT more choices of meat. Everything from beef, to pork, to alligator to ostrich. They have everything. In Orlando, they kept it simple. They had 15 different choices and all of them were non exotic (beef, pork, chicken, etc.) Still, overwhelming choice aside, the meal was fantastic!
I am writing this the following day, and I can say that I am still full. I probably only have half a cow left in my belly (some went out the hard way, the rest I'm sure parked itself in my belly fat and my ass fat...I'll need to run a marathon to work this off!!)
Honey and I ran early so as not to have to run with the extra added weight of a cow in our bellies. Oh, and let's not forget the dessert. Mmmmmm...we had the Molten Lava Cake and a Triple Chocolate Cake.
I'm seriously drooling right now thinking about it. Pavlov's dog ain't got nothing on me right now...RUFF!!!!!
Anyway, it was a great night out with my love. The funniest part of the evening happened right at the beginning. You had to be there, I suppose. When you first sit down, they begin to explain how it all works. Honey wasn't paying attention at first, so she didn't realize that the dude was explaining in exquisite detail how to eat at a Brazilian Steakhouse. Honey just nodded and smiled, and I tried not to look her way because I was ready to laugh in the guy's face. When he left, she said, "What was he talking about?"
That made me laugh. When I told her, she had a nice laugh too. It was a nice beginning to a great night out.
