Happy Valentine's Day!Yes, Valentine's Day, the least essential, most overrated, most commercial, least necessary of the holidays (unless you are a florist...or a woman!) Of course, being a man married to a woman, I am obligated to go out of my way to do what I do every day: Make sure my love knows how much I love her.
Instead of the usual way I do that such as tell her how beautiful she is, how much I love her, doing household chores, taking care of the children, supporting the family, playing hide the bologna, lending a shoulder to cry on, listening to her complaints, fears, loves, likes and whatever, and just being an all around good partner, I have to go the extra mile and buy flowers, chocolate, take her to dinner and a movie, buy special presents and they all have to be accompanied by heart shaped balloons and colored blood red.
Seriously, I am not a fan of the holiday.
However, since Honey is my honey, I did what needed to be done...sort of. Honey likes shoes. I don't mean she likes shoes like someone who has been walking barefoot over hot coals would like some shoes, I mean she would take the shoes off of a dead woman in the street if they were the right brand kind of likes shoes. So, I bought her four pairs of fancy heels and boots that she absolutely loves and they are perfect and comfortable and like 6 inch heels (I'm still taller than her...barely!) And, we are going into Orlando to stay at a hotel and to go to a concert and eat out, etc., etc., to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine's Day.
Still, Vday sucks.
At least I got to run nice and early in the day since I had a doctor's appt and I didn't want to run late. My running has been consistent the past few days and I like it like it that. I feel like I have hit my stride. Tomorrow, I'll discuss some changes I have made to my running form that I think will pay dividends in the long run.
Here are my numbers:
Time: 15:00
Distance: 1.66 miles
Pace: 9:01/m
Max Pace: 7:35/m
Calories: 214
Avg HR: 133
