Day 63, 302 To Go

I am pretty sure I sound like a broken record complaining about the weather.  I'm also sure many of you don't give a crap.  So, I'll stop complaining...

After today...

Maybe...

It was cold all day again today and by the time I ran, I was actually shivering.  I suppose I could have worn warmer clothes, but in my defense, most of my warm clothes were dirty from my run and bike on Sunday.  I'm not above wearing dirty, smelly clothes.  In fact, as long as my clothes are not standing up on their own and flowers don't wilt when I walk by, I'll wear it.  I draw the line at, dirty, smelly, wet clothes though!  So, I settled for less than warm clothes.

One of my goals starting this month was to concentrate on an aspect of my running form every time.  I'm pretty sure I failed at that today.  I was a little tired from yesterday, understandably, and I was freezing my butt and frankly, it was just one of those days when you don't want to run.  One of my mottoes this year is, "Just suck it up and shut up," and that is what I did (I haven't verbalized this motto prior to today because I didn't want anyone else to say that to me!!)

I tired unsuccessful to work on my high knees.  They didn't go too high.  Then I tried to concentrate on my cadence.  It was hard to count through the chattering teeth.  Then I decided to concentrate on time traveling so I could get my run over with.  That worked! 

(I will submit to you that it is possible that I did not time travel and that time just went by at its normal pace...but I just may be the next Marty McFly!)

In the end, the run was done, and another day is in the books.  Here are my numbers:

Distance: 1.57 miles

Pace: 9:32/m

Max Pace: 8:44/m

Calories: 203

Avg HR: 134

Max HR: 142

Now, I will spend some time with Honey (who, by the way, did NOT run with me...and it is MONDAY) while she watches The Bachelor.  I want to emphasize that SHE is watching it.  I will be sticking needles in my eye as an alternative.  I think I am getting the better end of the deal.
