Monday! All weekend I was dreaming about sitting at my desk working for the man. The man, in this case, is more like men, since most corporations are run by a board of directors. I'm sure there are some women in there too, but working for the women doesn't have the same ring of misery to it.I did have a decent night's sleep and my back has improved, but after you see my time, you will see that it has not improved that much.
Here are my numbers:
Time: 30:00
Distance: 2.78 miles
Pace: 10:48/m
Max Pace: 9:18/m
Calories: 267
Avg HR: 114
Max HR: 122Again, this was a Honeyless run...this was just me, in pain, crawling along the road, getting passed by old men with walkers. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I have been passed, in a race, but a really old man. He had to be at least 80 years old. It was my first race ever, but still! I was, like, 28 or 29 years old.and I should not get passed by an 80 year old man. I was passed as if I was standing still in a half marathon by a guy with a jogging stroller. I still think getting passed by an 80 year old man was worse.
But you know, some days you feel good, and others, you don't. As 9 time NYC marathon winner Frete Waitz said:
"Accept the ups and downs you will experience. You are going to have days you feel like you're flying and days you struggle. This is normal for all runners."
I would appreciate more ups than downs, though. That's not too much to ask!
I no longer have any long lists of training tips to regale you with, so I'll either have to find a new one or find something interesting to talk about from now on. Oh boy...
