Welcome to Thursday, my friends! The work week is coming to a close and I couldn't be happier. I had a good run today. I needed a good one and I got it. With the shorter days, I seem to be running in the dark more often. After daylight savings time hits, I doubt I'll be running in the daytime for the rest of the year! Sure, there may be some times when I run early, but usually, that isn't an option.Since it has cooled off a bit down here in Florida, the nights are nice and cool and the running is more pleasant. It is still pretty warm during the day, but at night, it is comfortable. I suppose at times it may even feel chilly (Honey would say COLD) but you really can't say 70 degrees is chilly. It is just by comparison to the normal 80 at night that makes it feel cool.
Take a look at my numbers:
Time: 30:00
Distance: 3.44 miles
Pace: 8:44/m
Max Pace: 7:05/m
Calories: 379
Avg HR: 136
Max HR: 161I would like to run every day at a sub 8 min pace. I'd also like to be over 6 feet tall, have a million dollars in the bank and be a polygamist with 8 supermodels for my wives, but some things just aren't possible. So, any day I run sub 9 min miles, I am happy.
Now it is time to get back to the 10 Runs Every American Must Do list. Today, we head to Arizona and the Grand Canyon!!
This 13-mile path, mostly paved, is flat and runs along the rim of the majestic Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The crowds might make a morning run more ideal, and brace for elevation—the trail is 6,820 feet above sea level. But rest assured, this is a run you will always remember.
I soooo want to do this run. The entire 13 miles! It is a flat, paved path that runs along the rim of the Grand Canyon! Can you get more scenic than that!! Seriously! Look at it! Sure, it is at elevation and the run would be hard, but I think it would be a life changing experience. I have never been to the Grand Canyon, even to look at it, although I was in Vegas which is sort of close. I think I missed out. I know I will miss out if I never run here, and so will you! So what are you waiting for!!
Run for Life!!
